Seems all the postive attention on pc sales, has had a impact on PS5 pre-orders, and its still like a month out for it:
Also BG3 is now on the top10 list of highest concurrent played games on steam (713k players online).
It reached the 9th spot, so even if starfield comes in and beats it, it should be sitting at a 10th spot the year out.

Also if you can get like 1m online playing at once, and assumeing people play like 4-5 hours a sitting, and theres 24 hours in a day..

that has to mean theres like 4-5 times the amount, that own the game (on steam alone).
assumeing 5-10% of sales are on other platforms (like GoG)....  I suspect the game has already sold more than 4million copies.
