It's funny. When I heard the rumors of late July-early or mid-August for a new PS5 model, I actually rushed out and told my GF that I wanted a disc-based PS5 now for my birthday, despite my actual birthday being at the end of August. Why? Because when it comes to consoles, I always like to collect the original iteration, not the revisions (cosmetic or major functional changes). So she went ahead and bought me a PS5 early, and man... I couldn't be happier. Not that the new console will be bad or anything, I'm sure it won't. But if I hadn't nabbed the OG, I'd have had to get it used, and that would have sucked.
