The Biden administration is holding firm, for now at least, on its refusal to send long-range Army missiles to Ukraine despite mounting pressure from U.S. lawmakers and pleas from the government in Kyiv, according to U.S. officials.

The number of ATACMS in American stockpiles is fixed, awaiting replacement with the next generation, longer-range Precision Strike Missile, called the Prism, for PrSM, which is expected to enter service by the end of this year, officials said. Lockheed Martin still manufactures 500 ATACMS each year, but all of that production is destined for sale to other countries.

The ATACMS would allow Ukrainian forces to target the farthest reaches of Russian-occupied Crimea from their own current front lines, including the 12-mile Kerch Bridge and the Russian naval base at Sevastopol.

"There's no reason to give Ukraine just enough to bleed but not enough to win," Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Tex.) said. "If we're going to be helping them, either go all in or get out." The resolution was backed by the committee's chief Democrat, Rep. Gregory W. Meeks (N.Y.).

U.S. In No Hurry To Provide Ukraine With Long Range Missiles - The Washington Post

Pathetic.

How is the stockpile fixed when i also says they making 500 each year lol? Are American's using them somewhere? Did Canada and Mexico get rowdy lol? 190 mile range isn't exactly something they need to stock pile in their own backyard as I would argue they would want something with a greater distance to hit enemies approach the US long before the 190 miles range. I could easily give up 1 year's worth supply.

You see the issue is we have to stockpile these weapons, in case one of our enemies like Russia attacks us!

The West can be so fucking short-sighted sometimes, who the fuck even stands a chance against America? Who are their main rivals? China and Russia, they now have a chance to cripple one of them and remove them from the board for dozens of years but nah lets save our weapons and hoard them in case Russia attacks us after Ukraine!

Not like any country other than China even stands a chance at reaching America's shores and even that would be a long shot, sure, America can give ATACMS to allies like South Korea but America can easily give up some of its own stock to Ukraine, not like Ukraine would need a huge amount as well, when you combine ATACMS with Storm Shadow and SCALP.

Better not tell me that the countries buying these ATACMS are Eastern Europe as well...They'd be preparing for Russia...Who Ukraine is currently fighting...Love the love of God, Ukraine is fighting Russia for us already! I can accept that South Korea needs them and maybe Taiwan but I doubt ATACMS is effective on ships and China invading Taiwan would be like Normandy x20 even without ATACMS.

Not to mention, America vs China would be mostly fought via the sky and sea.

Also ATACMS has been in service since 1991 and they're currently producing 500 ATACMS missiles per year already even with Prism destined to replace it, who the hell is buying 500 ATACMS missiles per year on top of the years they've already purchased from? They're basically telling me there's thousands of ATACMS missiles out there and America/Allies can't even give Ukraine lets say, ~100? It's utterly pathetic.
