How will AI impact games in the upcoming years?

Before the advent of the computer, there were professions called "computers" that basically did what computers do today: they crunched numbers.

I wonder if people back then worried about those jobs vanishing to mechanical computers the same way people worry about artists or writers losing work to AI today?
