I'm so baffled by this angry reaction to what is simply a rebranding, my issue is, while I do agree with these complaints, they've been complaints which have existed for years now and only now people are complaining about them. The rebranding when judged on its own seems like (mostly) a good thing to me, with a few adjustments to be made.

At worst, nothing has changed for the consumer, aside from they're losing GWG but in exchange for a collection of 25+ older titles, which will be expanded to overtime (maybe monthly?). For new audiences, this might actually provide more value than the current GWG which is all ancient titles that nobody cared for.

If this was simply called "Xbox Live Core" and instead GWG was swapped for a catalogue of old 1st party titles, would this anger still be the same? Lol. Because that is essentially what this is.

So, like most people that gamepass you want online you either need 

$10 - core + $11 - gamepass console OR $17 for GPU

meanwhile PC gamepass is a dollar cheaper, free online, and even has EA play for $10

Even going the cheapest route console players are still paying 70% more to simply have gamepass+online

Exactly...It's the same situation...Aka nothing to do with Game Pass Core, which is mostly a branding change with the extra perk of a Game Pass catalogue replacing shitty GWG which was causing Xbox bad PR every month, Lol. If this was called Xbox Live Core and they replaced GWG with a collection of old titles, we definitely wouldn't be having this conversation, I think, Lol.

And I do agree with you that the Console/PC situation could be improved but it feels unrelated to this change, it's an issue that has existed for years now, y'all have been paying for Ultimate for years now and I've never seen people so angry about the situation until now, because Xbox Live Gold had a name change, haha.

Like I don't see what is confusing about it, Xbox Live Gold is now being called Game Pass Core and it now has 25+ old titles instead of GWG...Is it exactly what you wanted? Clearly not, but still, Imo, at worst it's a minor upgrade to the current situation, it's the same price as Gold, it's more streamlined into Game Pass marketing and GWG which has been God awful for a long time is being replaced by a better offering.
