Excite Bike: my one error based on nostalgia: not enough of a game to be worth it, even 500 points. it could have been ok with multiplayer, but solo is just too short...

Im very tempted to get Super Mario World - just finished NSMB (DS - and I mean finished, getting every coin in the game ;) - I don't think you can go wrong with it. Mario Kart is also tempting, as my GC Mario Kart has been at a friends place for 3 years (and I'll never get it back). I played ExciteBike years ago, and Im not tempted to play it again. I also have Castlevania 4 - and its a definite worth download.
