I have very little experience with the Ratchet and Clank games. I played part of that PS4 one and didn't think much about it. Just kinda meh. I need a game to lighten the tone after FF16 and Rft Apart is there on PS+ Premium so I started playing it. Ok, this game is flat-out gorgeous. Most impressive PS5 game I have seen. This is the kinda thing I want to see more of when using new hardware power. While pretty the real thing here is the rift hopping and how instant it is. This is what I was talking about before in the Consoles Too Powerful rant. Using the new hardware power to create something imaginative but also new mechanics not possible before. Nintendo has always done that and lovely to see that philosophy done here. Such a contrast to something like Cyberpunk 2077 where it just used the extra power to make a larger same old bland open city AAA game that does nothing different. New. Unique. Or even better than games in the genre before. In many ways, it does them worse. CP2077 is just a bigger box of slightly frostbitten old frozen dinner. It's still edible. Will fill you up but it's not good either.

I only downloaded it real quick to see how it look and it's incredible how good it looks. Not sure when I'll fit it into my schedule since the second half of this year is just  stacked but I will be playing that game eventually.
