Chip costs for typical nVidia gaming chips on TSMC 5nm, 3nm, 2nm

👉 at 2nm nVidia has to expect 60% higher chip production costs than at 5nm (for the same chip area)https://t.co/LXm5pPknEj pic.twitter.com/o2Z3P5yX7H
Honestly I might just ride the 4090 wave until PS6 lol. It was expensive but until the GPU market stops sucking, it is the only purchase at it's MSRP that makes sense. The rest of the lineup starts to make sense if you can get them in a great deal like the deal hinch got with his 4070 Ti.
Samsung Foundry sees 2nm mass production in 2025, 1.4nm in 2027
— Dan Nystedt (@dnystedt) June 28, 2023
- #Samsung 2nm, called SF2: 12% performance boost, 25% more power efficient, 5% smaller area, than 3nm.
2025: SF2 for mobile chips
2026: HPC (high performance computing)
2027: automotive

After Digital Foundry keeps pointing out the poor performance in Unity, they finally fixed it.
Time between nVidia generations from Fermi to Ada Lovelace Next
— 3DCenter.org (@3DCenter_org) June 28, 2023
👉 2 years between 2 chip generations is normal, but slightly longer periods have also occurred. The larger gap between ADA and ADA-Next naturally increases the chance of an RTX40 refresh.https://t.co/zB1JUMwb4S pic.twitter.com/zcipoy8lbv
