Intense footage of a trench battle, uncensored kills and Ukraine taking prisoners at the end.

Footage of yesterday's battalion vs battalion combat of the 🇺🇦1st Mech Battalion (3 Assault Br) vs 🇷🇺3rd Battalion (57th Guards).

As a result of the assault, the bridgehead on the western bank of the Siversky Donets - Donbas canal was completely cleared.

During the operation, 30 occupiers were eliminated, as well as dozens of wounded. 10 POWs were added to the exchange fund.

Why is Ukraine bothering to take enemy troops alive?

Geneva Conventions, International Laws, etc. Anyone who makes a clear gesture to surrender (such as waving a white flag, tossing their gun away and holding their hands in the air, shouting they surrender, etc), has to be taken captor and can't just be killed on the spot.

That aside and arguably more importantly, a surrendered Russian can be swapped for captured Ukrainians. The more captured Russians, the more captured Ukrainians they can get back by trading with them with Russia.
