I'm basically the same about the Ys series. I've seen them and they look kind of interesting to play, but I've never gone forward to actually buy one, let alone playing them. This one looks good, but the UI confuses me a little bit.

And yeah, the other games have landed on Steam, and I don't see why this one should be different.

Thanks for sharing the video.

Highly recommend the series.

Steam/GOG pretty much has all of the games - and the prices are great.

I played through Ys 1, 2 , Origin, Oath in Felghana and Ark of Napishtim.

Next one I will play will be Seven, then Memories of Celceta - and from there I'll play VIII. I still need to buy Ys IX - might do it this year if the price range goes down enough.

Bear in mind - Memories of Celceta is the remake of IV and Oath is the remake of Ys III

V has yet to get a remake but I am hoping that will come next after Ys 10.

You dont have to play them in order since the story is separate in each entry but you might miss some aspects/jokes if you dont play the games in order - its not necessary.

Also Ys Origin is completely cut off from the rest of the series - its basically Ys 0 - takes place several hundred years or so from Ys 1 and afterwards - features different protagonists.

I would recommend playing Ys Origin (as that was my first entry into the series back in 2012) - the gameplay is more user friendly in comparison to Ys 1 and Ys 2 where both of the games were more difficult (though you can change that with easy mode on PC).

Thanks for the recommendations.
