Career ranks were meant to be something to grind for. MCC has it and every Halo game since at least 3 had it. Plus, it's nice to work towards something that isn't the battle pass.

Yeah the community seems fine with it, but it all depends on the game mode aswell, infection will not rank you much Xp. Hopefully PVE will come with next season. 

No rewards for the ranks is a shame tho, especially when they said they wanted to take their time for the progression system. Gears ranks also had issues but you got atleast something for each rank.

Thankfully that does seem to be the case! Surasia said Season 5 will focus on PvE with Firefight, along with enemy AI added in Forge for custom PvE modes, and even the possibility of Extraction being added next season as well. 

Oh, and Ske7ch is teasing rank rewards!
