Not a fan of the Gamepass price hike though, even if it is only $1 per month higher than before. Reminds me of how Netflix has managed to creep their price for the standard sub up from $8 a month in 2010 to $15.49 per month in 2023, by doing it in small $1 or $2 increments each time.

I hope it does not come to this. For now, it is still way under the inflation from its 2017 introductory price. So it was unavoidable for Gamepass to raise its price eventually if only to match inflation. The only thing that was holding it back was the focus on growth but I guess the great reception of last week's show gave them enough confidence to go ahead with the adjustment.

From now on, fingers crossed MS does not get too greedy and keeps solely matching inflation every 4-5 years or so.

I think even inflation aside, everyone was bragging about Game Pass being "the best deal in gaming" and how much of a steal it was, because it is a very good steal, hundreds of titles available and 1st party on day one for that cheap? Now a Bethesda RPG day one for that cheap? Possibly ABK titles? The price increase was inevitable, that was obvious to anyone.

At a $1-$2 increase it's still incredibly good value and about to be even better value when Xbox gets on a regular release schedule starting with Forza Motorsport, Starfield and leading into Avowed, Hellblade II, etc. And IF Activision-Blizzard comes onboard it's about to be insane value, Lol. Big if but even without it, Game Pass is about to pop off.

I don't really see the difference whether they increase $10 now or $10 over the next 5-6 years (or whatever price) and a $1-$2 increase now is way better than a much higher price increase now. If they keep increasing in price, we can unsub whenever we want and vote with our wallets, when it hits our limits of what we're willing to pay.

The Netflix complaining is a bit meh...People can unsub whenever they want...I don't think people are that stupid that they don't notice a price increase because it happens over a few years rather than over 1 day, I notice it and I'm still subbed, Lol. When people are looking through their balances at stuff to cut, the subscription services will be first to go if they are too costly.

There's a lot of internet complaining about Netflix but clearly a massive amount still consider it worth the money, if they hit a threshold which causes a mass drop-off then that's their own fault and consumers will vote with their wallets which will maybe cause Netflix to re-adjust the price again and it ain't like Netflix can do whatever they want when they have more than enough competition now.

Though no TV Streaming service is profitable aside from Netflix, soo...
