Depending on your match score it can take you 4-5 thousand matches (if you are Mint Blitz) or 15 thousand if you really suck. 

Makes sense. It's not like ranked that resets every season. 

Career ranks were meant to be something to grind for. MCC has it and every Halo game since at least 3 had it. Plus, it's nice to work towards something that isn't the battle pass. 

I do hope the rewards for reaching certain career rank milestones get substantially better.
