Well, its my opinion. Most games cannot do anything really different from what they did before without all the fan backlash. I remember how much hate was going on about GOD of War changing from the 3rd person perspective from the original games to now. That is what mostly what fans bring. You change something and they lose their minds. You move on from something they believe is important and the lose their minds. They complain about everything which makes going to any forum a toxic wasteland. Usually from there the game just stagnate, It cannot do anything new and cannot change anything. Hell, I believe fans just want MS to make a damn good 3rd person adventure fantasy game period. At least that is what I want. Either way, I care little about the name Fable and more about the game actually being good. By the 3rd Fable, I was pretty much done with the series though I will say my older son played the 3rd game a lot but even he was not all that supportive of it. As I stated, the game probably will have some aspect of the Fable series but if Playground really want to make it their own, they need to be free to flip the table on it and do it their way. What would be good is if Playground could put into this Fable all the cool ideals Peter thought up for the first game but never accomplish. Maybe we can plant that acorn and come back years later an its a huge tree. It would be good if this Fable could be the interactive masterpiece Peter envisioned but did not have the tech to make it happen. |
That's pretty much what most people would hope for. The goal of rebooting a franchise should be to start steering it back in the right direction fans originally dreamed of. I doubt anyone's asking them to rehash the same mistakes of later entries.
