I think the cluttered menu system of the 360 is a bigger potential handicap for new (and very unexperienced) users than RRoD. |
How can you people think something failing 1 in 3... that's 1 in 3!!! is something people don't know about?
As for HD sales, the "HD consoles" collectively have more market then the Wii. if the 360 was not a pice of shit from a build quality perspective, it would have most all of that market.

You say "people", I said "the average person".
The average person probably hasn't heard of the 360, much less RRoD.

If you really think that, you are in serious denial of why people are buying up the Wii in hordes.
RRoD is a problem with the gaming enthusiasts. The 360 "design and games" represents the best of what 2004 had to offer.

This is completely untrue. This got a lot of coverage in the US, on shows like Today and GMA. I've had people that don't follow video games much at all tell me they wouldn't touch the 360 because it is unreliable. They don't know the exact RROD details, but the fact that the 360 is unreliable it out in the general public.

Saying something is "completely untrue" doesn't make it so. Just because something was on television (on rare occasions) doesn't mean most normal people noticed or cared one way or the other. As a point of illustration, can you cite *all* news stories shown on Today and GMA since the 360 RRoD was broadcast? Not at all, but I bet you can recall most of those of interest to you...
The general public (i.e., those who didn't flock to see "Snakes on a Plane") have no idea about the idiosyncrasies of any videogaming system.

I can say the same for you. Just because you think it is true, doesn't make it so. The point is that millions of people saw it on those shows, told their friends, etc. Nothing about RROD was broadcast, just that it had reliability issues. You can believe what you want, but I've had several people ask me if what they've heard about the 360 was true.
