5600X3D would be interesting, in theory performing very close to a 5800X3D in most titles. But they're just rejected 5800X3Ds, no new CPUs.

EDIT: oh, this was already discussed, lol.

I think Zen3+ for desktops on a 6nm node would make sense even with Zen 4 out and Zen 5 coming because the demand for AM4 will remain high for years and the production costs could be lowered.

Many people will be hesitant upgrading to AM5 for awhile, ditching their DDR4 Ram and starting over. - So this gives the platform some extra longevity and a good budget option.

That and the current list of woes hasn't helped.

Give a few updates to AM5 and then we will see more AM4 users migrate over I think.

going from AM4 to AM5 doesn't make that much sense for most people because the 5800X3D is still really good. And DDR4 bandwidth isn't that much of an issue with 3D cache CPUs.

7800X3D is more for people that go for a really high refresh rate or that don't want to upgrade for a long time.

I really think releasing Zen3+ desktop CPUs with 3D cache wouldn't be bad business because of upgraders. 5800X3Ds are on top of all sales charts that I've seen. New system builders may go to Intel. I would go for AM5 because it may be AMD's platform for the entire DDR5 gen like AM4 was for DDR4.

EDIT: oh wait, ZEN3+ mobile processors are DDR5, I mean a ZEN3 DDR4 refresh.
