Ruslan Stefanchuk, the guy who makes everyone else look tiny.
Mr Stefanchuk is the immediate successor to the Ukrainian president as per Ukraine’s constitution.
He is closely aligned with Mr Zelensky, who he has known since college, and was recently pictured by his side after he signed Ukraine’s application to join the European Union.
The Kyiv Post reported that Mr Stefanchuk’s predecessor, Dmytro Razumkov, was dismissed after he clashed with Mr Zelensky over legislation to tackle the influence of oligarchs and failing to endorse sanctions against pro-Kremlin oligarch Viktor Medvedchuk. As a Zelensky loyalist, Mr Stefanchuk, who was previously appointed first deputy, was seen as a more suitable candidate.
He seems well liked and tends to follow Zelenskyy on these international trips so he has the relationships with world leaders already. Hopefully it never comes to it though, but honestly, killing Zelenskyy would be very stupid on Russia's part at this stage, they'd turn him into a martyr. Putin definitely underestimated him, I've no doubt he thought Zelenskyy would run but with him refusing to leave he's turned into a worldwide icon.
