That's....not what I'm talking about at all lol. There's a huge discourse online that R&C: Rift Apart is a gotcha moment and that the PS5 SSD is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Obviously not the case, but Insomniac's marketing and tech demonstrations of the game prior to launch was all about "the game is only possible on PS5" which of course is in comparison to the PS4. So while not actually contradicting themselves, how could they have not known the backlash from many that will have wrongly interpreted their marketing at the consoles release once the PC version was announced? |
I know what you mean, I just don't think it really matters, nor do I think Insomniac really actually cares.
The reason I brought up Nixxies is because not only they one of the best at porting games to PC, they already have extensive knowledge of Insomniac's game engine. So, marketing phrases or not, Insomniac aren't the ones bringing it to PC (in which case maybe the backlash would actually mean something), but rather a team who specialises in it. And, we've heard of 'impossible' ports before (I'm not saying this is one of them)
Like, this is such a non-starter of a controversy I can't help but roll my eyes at it.
