Fair point. Man it was obvious about the axe heads. You literally just have to look at the axe heads on the axes the game gives you to figure that out. There are hundreds of sticks in the opening area alone, I think resources return after blood moons.

From what you've been saying you've spent most of your time living out a weird lumberjack fetish rather than finishing the tutorial which isn't even particularly long, could probably blast through the tutorial in less than an hour if you don't bother exploring much. I actually think the tutorial is the one aspect that this game is weaker than BotW, still a great tutorial, just doesn't quite beat BotW's, which is probably among the greatest tutorials I've ever played. I never said you shouldn't share your opinion on the opening but you've probably made at least 30 or 40 comments about this game on this site which is ridiculous for a game that you haven't even passed the tutorial in. How many hours have you spent in the opening section?

Must be 5 or 6 hours now. I like to explore and got turned around several times. Traversal is slow with stuff disappearing again. I did not see the triangular shaped rocks cause of the lousy contrast and resolution. But after you told me, I started looking for them and recognized them.

Anyway I defeated some construct on a giant circle two nights ago, then last night made my way back up to the wing dispenser after gathering stuff for the forge down below. And to explore the snow part after I got the winter pants. I'm stuck in a circle lol.

I'm starting to get used to the visuals and the layout, it's getting easier to recognize the game language. Fog of war would have helped a lot as several times I went to places I already explored. A 3D map would help as well.
