Bakhmut Has Fallen.
It looks like the defense of Bakhmut has ended. For over 9 months Russia tried to capture the city while Ukrainian troops inflicted maximum damage to them. Ukraine lost lots of troops, but because of them, Ukraine could prepare other troops for the offensive while Russia stalled.

According to sources, last rear-guard units of the 🇺🇦 armed forces have left the city of Bakhmut. Wether it was deliberate to hold on till the end here and attack the flanks, or something that just turned out that way we will probably just learn after the war. However the Heroïsm…

Enjoy the rubble while it lasts Russia!
9 months to capture Ukraine's 56th largest city, at the cost of tens of thousands of soldiers and hundreds of vehicles and Ukraine is now flanking the Russians in Bakhmut so we'll see how long they actually hold onto a city which is now rubble with no defensible positions and Ukraine slowly surrounding it.
Now Ukraine pulls out the city they can send those troops on the flanks and artillery/bomb the shit out of Bakhmut with no worry about hitting their own. This is very likely to end up being Russia's Stalingrad except Bakhmut wasn't anywhere close to as important as Stalingrad was. Part of me wonders if Russia will even declare victory because there's a very strong possibility they'll lose it shortly after.
