Indeed.
When it comes to memory, I think the position of AMD is even worse because they not only advertize it, but also go as far as telling us which is the sweet spot to aim for. It's ridiculous.
But it's quite hypocrital from Asus and the rest to make those claims against overclocking when most motherboards come with several "tricks" enabled by default to make the product perform better and stand above the competition in the fewer and fewer motherboard reviews we get with each passing gen, with some motherboards launching with PBO set on by default.
And because of this, reviewers should start reviewing those products, the CPUs, motherboards and also GPUs (that come pre-overclocked) at stock settings, because otherwise that's not a fair description of what the product is guaranteed to do. Maybe that way we'll actually move on an get rid of this nonsense crap, either in one direction of the other.
