FYI in about 10 weeks this is going to be moot. The PS3 is getting old enough that the worldwide week for week comparison is starting to get to the weeks where the PS2 truly begins to dominate. The PS2, despite breaking records with its launch, didn't have a great launch in relation to the sales from the mid portion of its life onward.
To be specific the next 10 weeks in this WW comparison (weeks 87 through 97) will see the PS2 sell some 7.56 million units. While the PS3 will likely sell ~1.5 million units during the same period. By the end of the next 10 weeks the PS3 will likely be about ~6.82 million units behind the PS2 from its current deficit of ~760k...at least according to this comparison.
I'm content to just let Crazzy keep posting and let the numbers speak for themselves.
