I'm sorry but I think the lot of y'all have some big-time recency bias about IGN. Need I remind you that they gave FH5 a 10 AND named it their GOTY, while Keighley and many other gaming sites didn't even nominate it? They raved about Hi-Fi Rush and gave it a 9, Halo Infinite a 9, Flight Simulator a 10, etc. They've supported XBox more than a lot of other general gaming sites like Gamespot, Kinda Funny, Giant Bomb, etc in my opinion.

That article being referenced is not mean-spirited or telling lies, it's trying to figure out why a console that's been out for over 2.5 years has only released good AAA games for like 2 months of that time while owning over 20 studios. It's a legitimate question and one that, like it or not, a lot of people are asking.

Tbf, I only have an issue with Ryan lmao. Especially after that FF 16 and Tomb Raider post. But ooof go off on these xbots bruh

The Rise/FF16 stuff was classic hypocrisy but it can be defended by Ryan's opinion changing over the years. The Obsidian shit was way worse, it is what caused me to stop following Ryan, Lol. It wasn't just Ryan though, Dan said it as well but at least Ryan deleted his tweet.

It was honestly rude and displayed a huge lack of understanding of the Gaming industry that these dudes are apart of as journalists for it. Obsidian employees likely follow these dudes, as very well known IGN employees, casually tweeting "Aye, Xbox should think about cancelling all of Obsidian's projects and turning them into a support studio for Bethesda because their projects ain't shit and won't ever be shit compared to The Elder Scrolls" Lmao.

It was so fucking dumb...Obsidian has been such an MVP to Xbox and it would have led to even less AAAs for Xbox, all to add ~200 employees to Elder Scrolls VI which Bethesda can do by just hiring any number of the external support studios that exist, even IF Obsidian assisted on the project, that is all they'd be, assistance, because Bethesda would still lead it.

Probably wouldn't even get Elder Scrolls VI out sooner. Only thing it would do is cause very talented Obsidian employees to leave the company in large numbers because now instead of leading their own projects and having that independence, they've been turned into Bethesda California and shoved in The Elder Scrolls machine as nothing more than assistances after years of dreaming up and creating their own projects.

When someone says something like that which displays such an utter lack of knowledge on the industry, I can't help but ignore their other takes.
