It's also underestimating the millions of CoD and Fortnite players who have spent literally hundreds now on continued cross-platform entries and won't abandon all of that and their friends to switch to another console at this stage.
Digital purchasing is way bigger on Xbox/PlayStation than it is Nintendo as well and Nintendo doesn't even have cross-purchasing history between Wii U/Switch to begin with so that fanbase has zero choice anyway, no cross-play/backwards compatibility like Xbox/PlayStation have heavily invested in.
Console users DO have a choice. If you ask a CoD user if he wants to start all over after spending hundreds or carry his purchases over, they're more likely going to want to carry their purchases over. They'll carry that over to the next platform, with their entire history, they have that choice.
Nintendo users more often than not, aren't given a choice to begin with, Lol.
