I don't feel that's accurate given that other reports are saying Russia is taking defensive positions across the frontline (babring Bakhmut) in anticipation of the much anticipated Ukrainian spring assault.

Plus the US and Europe have given no indication that are they are soon to cut Ukraine off, quite the opposite in fact. Only reason they would if there was a sudden shift in their foreign policy - such as if Trump or a Trumpist candidate got back int he White House.
