It's interesting how the 7900XTX isn't as heavily discontinued as its smaller sibling, either because there's more demand for it or because there are less cards available and that helps it keep its price. But it's a good sign for all of us, a sign that the market is going back to how it was before the f*cking miners ruined it during the pandemic.
The x8 PCIe design of this card and others (I'm sure AMD will do the same with either the 7700 or the 7600 ones) is what pushes me towards a X670E motherboard, to have a Gen5 PCIe slot. Mind you, this is not a problem with the current cards as they are still PCIe 4.0 but, since I plan to keep my 1070 around for a bit more, the next GPUs might jump to Gen5 and use the same o lanes for its midrange cards, and at that point it might cause some bottleneck. |
Yea I think it's mainly because XTX matches up against the 4080 quite well while being cheaper where as the 4070 Ti is cheaper than XT. And while XT is a bit faster and has a lot more vram, most people won't pay more for Radeon due to the lack of competing features. So I think that's the main reason why XT is going down so much.
You could also get B650E instead of X670E as well. It comes with 90% of the features of X670E including Gen 5 PCI-E for both GPU and primary Storage for half the price. The only reason I didn't is cause I didn't like the visual looks of those motherboards compared to my Dark Hero. Plus ProArt had some real next gen upgrades like 10G Nic and USB4 40Gbps.
