I'm a few chapters in and currently loving my first playthrough of Resident Evil 4 Remake. I always heard the hype about RE4, even when it originally released, but I never played it for whatever reason.

The level design, combat encounters, and gameplay are outstanding. I didn't expect to enjoy how this game spawns enemy AI in certain sections, it adds a layer of tension for all encounters, even with the weaker enemies. Exploration is thrilling, with how its metroidvania elements blend with the story, and its semi linear design gives you the feeling of an open but enclosed area, and the different enemy types being introduced builds upon that even further.

I'm not a huge fan of the RE series but RE4R has changed that.

RE4 is definitely the one that got many gamers onboard with the series. I do highly recommend at the very least, RE2R! That game is a survival horror masterpiece whereas RE4R is an action horror masterpiece. Both games are masterpieces regardless! The opening of RE4R heavily references RE2R since Leon is one of the 2 playable protagonists, so it really makes a cool cohesive narrative.

RE3R.....you can get it on sale for $10 lol. It's a cool game, but is stupid short, beat it in 3 hours, and too focused on scripted sequences. But great boss fights.
