Monday news. part two:
Dark and Darker will hold one more playtest in April
https://www.pcgamer.com/dark-and-darker-will-hold-one-more-playtest-in-april/
The subterranean extraction hack-and-slasher Dark and Darker was a huge hit during the latest Steam Next Fest—in fact, it was one of the biggest things on Steam. I didn't get to spend as much time with it as I wanted (I was distracted by the excellence of Weird West) and so I'm very happy that developer Ironmace will give me, and everyone else, another shot at it in April.
Baldur's Gate 3 increases system requirements 'to better reflect the realities of the launch version'
https://www.pcgamer.com/baldurs-gate-3-increases-system-requirements-to-better-reflect-the-realities-of-the-launch-version/
It's been nearly four years since Larian Studios announced Baldur's Gate 3. That's an awfully long time in PC gaming terms, and it's come an awfully long way since then. So it shouldn't be entirely surprising that your rig is going to be a little beefier than developers originally thought in order to run the game comfortably.
The Street Fighter 6 trailers are getting me hyped to once again pretend I'm finally going to get good at Street Fighter
https://www.pcgamer.com/street-fighter-6-cammy-zangief-lily/
The latest Street Fighter 6 trailer introduces Lily, "a descendant of the Thunderfoot tribe" who loves cameras and birds of prey, according to her profile, and reveals Street Fighter veterans Zangief and my old Street Fighter 4 main, Cammy. The video (embedded above) appeared on Sony's State of Play stream this week and is the last of the reveals for SF6's 18-character launch roster.
Overwatch 2 director confirms what we already knew: the 'meta' isn't all that important
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-2-director-confirms-what-we-already-knew-the-meta-isnt-all-that-important/
Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller has been doing something pretty neat lately: talking about Overwatch 2. The de facto voice of Blizzard on matters of Overwatch recently made it a goal to communicate with players more often about the current state of the game, and the man is on a roll. So far with his "Director's Take" series, Keller has written about ranked woes, the future of Arcade mode, and the failed experiment that is map pools.
Overwatch confirms Christ Jesus is better at deflecting missiles than ninja-cyborg Genji
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-confirms-christ-jesus-is-better-at-deflecting-missiles-than-ninja-cyborg-genji/
An Overwatch player messing around outside the boundaries of the map has discovered that the statue of Jesus Christ on Rio de Janeiro map Paraíso miraculously reflects all projectiles aimed at it with unerring accuracy. This is as opposed to Overwatch's vaunted cyborg-ninja Genji, whose ability to deflect projectiles lasts at most a mere two seconds and must be used by players with perfect timing. The discovery was posted by user OmicronGaming to Reddit.
It looks like EA is already considering Dead Space 2 and 3 remakes
https://www.pcgamer.com/it-looks-like-ea-is-already-considering-dead-space-2-and-3-remakes/
First spotted by VGC, Gloomwood developer Dillon Rogers shared screenshots of a purported EA survey gauging interest in remakes of Dead Space's sequels. The horror aficionado in question naturally checked "extremely interested."
Blood Bowl 3 devs address complaints, hand out free stuff
https://www.pcgamer.com/blood-bowl-3-devs-address-complaints-hand-out-free-stuff/
After multiple delays and an early unlock period that was marred by game-breaking bugs, Blood Bowl 3 launched on February 23. In spite of fixes for the most egregious issues, like the servers straight-up not working, it's currently sitting at a user rating of Mostly Negative on Steam. Only 27% of user reviews are positive.
Dragon Age: Origins deserves remaster with 'extra-realistic slimy nipple textures', says lead writer
https://www.pcgamer.com/dragon-age-origins-deserves-remaster-with-extra-realistic-slimy-nipple-textures-says-lead-writer/
"If we're on a kick re-mastering games from the aughts," David Gaider, lead writer of all three Dragon Age games, mused on Twitter, "what about Dragon Age Origins? Its graphics were behind the curve even at the time of release... can you imagine it with brand new PS5-era bells and whistles?"
Rough PC performance can't keep me from loving Wo Long's Wuxia action
https://www.pcgamer.com/rough-pc-performance-cant-keep-me-from-loving-wo-longs-wuxia-action/
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty has been a game half on my radar for awhile, but after giving its demo on Steam a try, this Team Ninja-developed Wuxia action game has my full attention. I'm hooked on its combat like with no Souls pretender before it in no small part due to its fantastic counter.
Get stuck in the ice and struggle to survive in this story-rich management game

The captain's dead and thing's aren't going well on your Arctic expedition in The Pale Beyond, a new hybrid of resource management, survival sim, and visual novel that's the debut title from Bellular Games, a studio based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. The game's format is being pretty well-received on Steam, where it has so far met with 92% positive reviews.
It's a platformer about a cute turtle and duck, what more do you want?
https://www.pcgamer.com/its-a-platformer-about-a-cute-turtle-and-duck-what-more-do-you-want/
The demo for a little 90s-inspired platformer hit Steam recently: Windswept, a pixellated platformer about a duck and a turtle going on a very large adventure while trying to get home after a storm. The platformer lets you switch between duck and turtle, or one player can take control of both characters in local co-op mode. Windswept is "coming soon," and will run a Kickstarter soon, which I hope means it's coming this year because I quite like it.
Atomic Heart devs apologise for racist cartoon clip and promise edits
https://www.pcgamer.com/atomic-heart-devs-apologise-for-racist-cartoon-clip-and-promise-edits/
Mundfish, the studio behind Atomic Heart, has apologised for the inclusion of a short, racially-insensitive clip in the cartoons that play in the game's save rooms, and promised to edit out the offending parts in a future update to the game. Last week, we reported that Atomic Heart had drawn criticism online for featuring a 1978 episode of the classic Soviet cartoon Nu, Pogodi! in which a brief, racist depiction of an African tribesman can be seen.
