Nah, EA isn't gonna sell off BioWare. At least not anytime soon.

While that is technically true, I've always viewed it the other way around. Buying a studio, I'm not gonna question about whether or not a game will be exclusive to a platform, but when it comes to game after game after game after game of a multiplatform studio and those games are being hatted, that's annoying as all hell.

Hmmm well I understand the expectations and disappointment factor I feel end result matters the most. Would much rather have a game like Baldurs Gate be timed exclusive than Sony just go buy Larian and make all future games permanent exclusive.

Just as I imagine most PlayStatiom gamers would prefer MS moneyhatted Starfield instead of outright buying the publisher and now thinking "oh no doom, no elder Scrolls, no Wolfenstein".

I think there is two aspects to this and I definitely agree with the first that I'd rather have timed exclusives than a full blown permanent taking away of a title I love, on a personal level.

But the other aspect I think to this is, at least an acquisition puts the financial responsibility onto the acquirer, it puts risk onto them, they usually become involved in the development and thus help out the studio in a number of ways, they actually take full responsibility for the studio they're acquiring.

Whilst moneyhats often boil solely down to "my rival can't have this title, here is some money"

So, I definitely would feel worse if I lost a studio I'm a fan of to a console I don't have but I sort of have more respect for that than I do moneyhats? If I've explained that well...I feel bad that I won't ever play another Bungie title but hey, fair play to Sony and I'm happy that Bungie has that support.

***Unless they are a studio who need the money, then I don't really care if it's a moneyhat, but I don't think Square/Larian, etc. Need the money, Lol.
