While that is technically true, I've always viewed it the other way around. Buying a studio, I'm not gonna question about whether or not a game will be exclusive to a platform, but when it comes to game after game after game after game of a multiplatform studio and those games are being hatted, that's annoying as all hell. 

Hmmm well I understand the expectations and disappointment factor I feel end result matters the most. Would much rather have a game like Baldurs Gate be timed exclusive than Sony just go buy Larian and make all future games permanent exclusive.

Just as I imagine most PlayStatiom gamers would prefer MS moneyhatted Starfield instead of outright buying the publisher and now thinking "oh no doom, no elder Scrolls, no Wolfenstein".

Yeah I completely agree with you on that one, but there's unfortunately titles that Sony has hatted that were originally timed exclusivity, yet have never made it over to Xbox. And like you mentioned with Starfield, it wouldn't surprise me if BG3 does turn into a permanent hat. There's just no telling these days, and that kind of uncertainty sucks.
