I've had contact lenses before but my eyes always got too dry using them. Contact lenses started irritating my eyes after an hour already, uncomfortable for long periods. Plus they were also a pita when cycling as inevitably a bit of dust or sand would get in between the lens and my eye, very itchy!
Maybe it's better now (dry eye wise) 25 years later, however my eyes are so bad today I would need bifocal contact lenses which have many draw backs. With glasses I can easily take them off or look over top to read something up close. (I don't use glasses behind my laptop for example) No issue in VR of course since it's all the same focal distance, yet just getting contact lenses to play VR, I'll try with my glasses first :)
Anyway now they changed the design to fresnel lenses there should be a lot more room in the headset for glasses.
