Hasn't the original PSVR still not been 100% successfully modded for PC use?

But yeah... I think Sony will actually make it PC compatible eventually. I honestly don't think there's even enough units to go around anyways.

I guess first the manufacturing costs will have to come down to sell the headset at a profit, plus Sony likely wants to have some PC VR games ready before making it compatible. Atm it would be just a loss to sell for PC use. Like selling PS3s in early days with Linux that ended up in server farms.

I doubt the loss Sony takes on the headset is as much as they took on the PS3. Sony removed Linux later, partly to get PS3s to earn money for them instead of subsidizing server farms. For example: https://phys.org/news/2010-12-air-playstation-3s-supercomputer.html

Lesson learned, and I bet Sony also wants to have the focus on the PS5 experience with PSVR2. Not on all kinds of hastily put together mods to get BotW, GTA5, FS2020 and Porn to work on it with janky results.

However then there's still no official support for PSVR on PC so could also not happen at all :/ Yet with more and more Sony titles coming to PC, there's a good chance PSVR2 will follow. I mean, GT7 would sell quite well on PC and will sell the headset there as well. I would love to use PSVR2 with Elite Dangerous and FS2020, perhaps one day.
