Watercooling is always risky for reasons like this

The problem is from Asus, that failed to tell its customers that the block was made from aluminium, not cooper. That's why corrosioin has appeared, because users are using radiators and maybe GPU blocks made with cooper and, when you mix two different metals with water, the weaker one starts to corrode.

It's well known and easily avoidable if you make sure that everything is made of the same metal.
