What are you talking about? Saturn was a decent console with decent games (too few of them though), Dreamcast was a great console with great games (quite a lot of them actually). Had Sega had more money, they would still be making hardware. What essentially put them out of business was Sony's (money-driven) competition. It kind of satisfies me therefore that Sony now gets to feel what it's like to have a competitor that simply does not have to care about money. |
It doesn't matter how good they were. After Genesis, there was 32X, Sega CD which were expensive, shitty, and had support pulled quickly. That already is enough to hurt a companies reputation. Not to mention the Nomad.
Sega Saturn did good in Japan, but shit everywhere else. So bad, Sega was already talking about it's replacement 2 years after it's release.
Dreamcast was solid, but by this point Playstation had established itself as the dominant brand and Sega's reputation was in the hole. Sega screwed over their customers time and time again, and I'm glad they payed the price.
