Looks like this reading was correct.
It sounds like 343's Halo Infinite campaign team got hit hard. In an email to staff, studio head Pierre Hintze wrote that "we've made the difficult decision to restructure elements of our team, which means some roles are being eliminated." https://t.co/GhjZLz6m7V

Definitely looks like Infinite's Campaign expansion has been axed...Halo is going to be on ice for a while for anyone who cares about the Campaign...Me.
Looks like they're doubling down on MP and we won't get a new Halo story until the next mainline Halo title, sigh, Lol.
This 10 year plan was terrible in hindsight. Support Halo Infinite's MP in the meantime but I think they should take another shot at revamping the engine (didn't work out first time around for Bungie either) and try again under Pierre's leadership then release a full fledged Halo story instead of an expansion then move on from Infinite.
Please don't reboot the fucking story again.
