AMD Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs can be distinguished by a new box, lower Tjmax temperature confirmed

https://videocardz.com/newz/amd-ryzen-7000x3d-cpus-can-be-distinguished-by-a-new-box-lower-tjmax-temperature-confirmed

I might upgrade when these come out but we will see. X3D is what zen 4 launch should have been but if the performance claims are true... Hot diggity damn!

One thing I don't understand about these 3D cache CPUs is the 7800X3D.

My understanding was that launching the 5800X3D with lower clocks than the 5800X was a bit problematic for AMD, because there were some instances where the extra MHz made the regular CPU faster than the more expensive 3D one, and I thought that the launch of the 7700X was their answer to avoid that again, allowing AMD to launch a 7800X3D with the extra cache and the same or even higher clocks as the 7700X. But then you look at the specs, and see that the 7700X has a max boost of 5.4GHz while the upcoming 7800X3D will only boost to 5.0GHz.

So the question is, why? Why launching the 7700X and not call it 7800X if they were going to make the same "mistake" again? Even the 7700 non-X will have a bigger boost, to 5.3GHz!

The stacked v-cache causes a clock rate hit. It's the reason only the the 7800X3D has lower clocks. It only has one CCX. On the 7900X3D and 7950X3D only one of the CCXs have the additional cache. It's my only real concern for the 7900X3D and 7950X3D. If the scheduler isn't up to the task they won't perform as well as they should. As it stands the CCX with additional cache is supposed to be prioritized for gaming. We'll see if Windows is up to the task.

Yeah, I'm aware that it can't clock as high as a chip without the extra cache, but I assumed AMD had taken that into account when preparing its CPUs so that a lower end processor like the 7700 -/X couldn't beat the higher end 7800X3D like what happened with the 5000 CPUs.

And well, AMD said that MSoft was working on an updated scheduler to take care of that. We'll have to wait and see if it arrives on time for reviews and how well it works.

What kind of job do you have? Your profile says you're 33, how can you have such back pain?

I'm 7'0"/213cm, so most chairs don't fit me well by default, but being this large also comes with significant joint problems. It started with my knees, now my back is just as bad. I need flexible seating that adapts to me rather than me having to adapt to it. We got some of these task chairs in at work (I work in a corporate environment) and not only are the backs nice and flexible but the seats are sort of free floating and move with you when you lean back or forward. Works a lot better for me, especially as I like to lean back and stretch my legs out to keep my knees loose.

This one doesn't have all the bells and whistles of more expensive ones but it seems to get the job done.

You're how much tall?! Wow, I didn't know your profile pic was an actual portrait of you .

And yeah, that explains your back pain. Have you checked if the chair you ordered is big enough for someone your heigh? Most chairs I've seen aren't designed for tall people (well, except a Razer one that claims to be ok with up to 200cm individuals).

Please excuse my bad English.
