TSMC 3nm Volume Production & Capacity Expansion Ceremony Held at Fab 18 Site

https://wccftech.com/tsmc-3nm-volume-production-capacity-expansion-ceremony-held-at-fab-18-site/

Apparently, SRAM, so basically all the cache on CPUs and GPUs, almost didn't shrink at all compared to 5nm. I think some AMD engineers saw the writing on the wall early that they moved it out of the chip and into it's own die both on the X3D CPUs and the RDNA3 GPUs.

https://fuse.wikichip.org/news/7343/iedm-2022-did-we-just-witness-the-death-of-sram/

https://www.xda-developers.com/how-death-sram-affect-future-pc/

It's always been a thing that sram just doesn't scale smaller very well, for about 20 years the rough standard amount of L2 cache for CPU's per-core has been about 256kb-512kb. (With some outliers of course.)

Intel and AMD have thus relied heavily on L3 (And even L4) to try and scale sram as it is simpler to build as it offers less bandwidth and higher latencies.

Desktop GPU Sales Hit 20-Year Low

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/sales-of-desktop-graphics-cards-hit-20-year-low

Considering the recession and how gaming PCs don't exactly feel affordable, makes sense.

Given the above, I expect 2023 to be even worse.

It's their own fault really. They pandered to crypto, then they raised prices sky-high because they could sell everything they built, gamers be damned.

This is a market correction and hopefully that will provide some positives for us, the consumer... Because suddenly Intel, AMD and nVidia will need to actually compete to get our coin.

Ok, guys. Other times I've asked your help when it comes to games, asking for your opinion. Now, I'll do it once again.

I've had these three games stuck in my head for a very long time, but it doesn't matter the reviews or videos I see of them, I can't make a decision one way or another.

So, I'm asking you what you think of these games, both good and bad.

  • Fallout 4_ I have a bit of experience with New Vegas, but it was the wrong game at the wrong time and it didn't work. I tried a bit of during a free weekend and it left me... I don't know, neutral, but I didn't go too far or saw too much of the game. I also have to say that I don't like too much freedom in games, because I tend to forget the point of the game and lose interest.
  • Homeworld Remastered Collection_ I like RTS games but I haven't been able to try this one, and gameplay videos don't tell much because not everybody plays strategy games the same way. Seems fun, in the way these games are, but I don't know if the third dimension makes it too complex.
  • STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order_ My biggest doubt with this one is the oposite of Fallout: games that are too linear aor have too much hand-holding become boring too fast, and this one looks to be like that. Also, I'm not a Star Wars fan. I've seen the original trilogy, and I like them, but I haven't seen any of the other movies. I only care if the game is good/fun or not, but not about how it fits the Star Wars universe or its lore nor any of that.

And well, that's it. Thanks in advance, I'll appreciate what you have to share.

I was a big fan of Fallout 1+2+3+New Vegas. I for the love of me, couldn't get into Fallout 4.

Homeworld Remastered Collection is an amazing title, in my opinion you aren't a PC gamer if you have not bought and played this title, the mechanics are fairly simple, but because of that it offers very tight gameplay.

The Story though is where Homeworld truly shines, it's simply brilliant, probably one of the most under-appreciated titles in all of gaming in my opinion.

Not a big StarWars fan to be honest.
