7: Astrobot: Rescue Mission

I've never played a game that felt so new and yet so familiar at the same time. It drove deep into so much Mario nostalgia. But it also doesn't feel like a Mario game. It manages to have its own identity. It doesn't look or feel like a Mario rip off, but it manages to evoke the same kinds of feelings. I've never played a game before where I felt ready to play this series for the next 10 or 20 years. The PS5 game gives a taste of this one, but this one is definitely superior. The only thing I've disliked about these games is that they're too short.

Some people don't like how simple the controls are, but I personally really love how Astro controls. I never feel like I have to fight with the controller or anything like that.

Playing in VR is also pretty special. Being able to feel claustrophobic and being able to look around in the world is quite a treat.
