Dang sounds like the entire Lovelace lineup gonna be pretty terrible value. One thing to note is while the 4060 Ti does have less shaders than a 3060 Ti, because of it's big clock speed advantage along with increased L2 cache and being on TSMC, it will still be faster. Likely it will be around 3070 performance with lower power draw and DLSS 3 support which is still pretty horrid mind you for that price. Nvidia this gen basically went full greed mode as they know AMD will do little to counteract them other than price their products accordingly instead of actually competing.

This is certainly sounding like a skip gen outside of 4090 buyers.

This pretty much confirms that I'm really gonna have to go for a 3080 or just settle for that one less X from AMD (pun intended).

Just hard to imagine an entire gen's worth of stack being utterly useless to anyone from last gen or those looking for good gains on the mid side of things. Surely this will bite Nvidia in the ass 2 yrs from now, because if it doesn't, we are proper screwed.

Yea it's ironically what Nvidia wants but at this point, there isn't exactly an alternative that's a good value. It's not like a 3080 or 6800XTs are bad cards and both of them will serve you quite well for many years to come. I think if you can find a 6800XT for $300-$400 less than 3080s which I have seen happen, they would be good cards to bite into. Otherwise a 3080 12GB model will also serve you will as you get a lot of Nvidia goodies.

Got an early christmas gift

Time to see how much it has improved since I originally got it during launch and sold it due to a lot of issues. It is the 64GB (I didn't choose it) but I did put in my 512GB microsd card in there and will eventually replace it with a better SSD.

Congrats dude, and happy xmas to everyone .

Thanks dude and Merry Christmas to you too!
