Both of those FOSS Patents articles are very good reads, I'd recommend a read of them both even though they're long.

Conspiracy Time/Prediction: FTC knows that its arguments make no sense, they don't care about putting any effort in, because they already know that CMA is blocking the deal (regulators do speak to each other throughout all of this).
