I feel like this part of the list is full of games that I would probably place differently if I were to replay them today.

Just some short thoughts, I'll have a lot more to say about the closer I get to the top.

God of War 2:

Played this on the PS3 collection. The cutscenes felt like PS2 yet, but the actual gameplay looked pretty good. I played through the entire trilogy through a couple weeks, so unfortunately I don't remember much of the story.

God of War 3:

This was quite unexpected coming from the God of War remasters on PS3. The visuals and scale were a massive step up. The scale in particular was one of the most impressive things I've still seen today in a game.

Uncharted 3:

Visually the game looks great, but it felt like a big disappointment for me coming from Uncharted 2. Pacing in particular felt like a big step down. Some big levels that felt like they were just there to distract the player/give them something to look at. Which isn't really the reason I play these games.

Bioshock Infinite:

LittleBigPlanet 2:

Really enjoyed LBP, but this time I got more into the creation aspects, and had a lot of fun with that. Really cool how much easier they made it compared to the previous game.

New Super Mario Bros Wii:

I really love the original Super Mario Bros games, and I had a lot of good fun returning to that.

Pokémon Yellow:

What I love about this one is that you get all 3 of the starters from the previous games. Instead you start with Pikachu, with some added gimmicks of being able to talk to it. I think in a lot of ways this is the classic Pokémon experience.

Pokémon Sapphire:

I put hundreds of hours into this one. I get a kick out of the fact that the water legendary is able to learn moves like thunderbolt and earthquake. Absolutely loved leveling him up, he was overpowered.

Age of Mythology:

One of my favorite RTS's, was largely Age of Empires 2 with a twist of having a God with super powers instead of having a civilization with a normal tech tree.

Mario Kart Wii:

I've played a few of the Mario Kart games, and this is the one that I felt the best controlling and had quite a few options for tracks. And it's a game I've put hundreds of hours into playing with my family. (Maybe when I get around to Mario Kart 8 more, that will replace it.)

Horizon: Zero Dawn:

An amazing post-post-apocalyptic game. I don't think Horizon does anything wholly uniquely, but as a package I don't think there's anything quite like it. You have some simple RPG mechanics, you have large robot dinosaurs roaming a massive open world. You have some big mysteries to unravel.

Batman Arkham Knight:

I played this one on the PC when things were bad, maybe it would be higher now.

Tried some new things with the controversial batmobile, but I had a lot of fun with it.
