Monday news, part two:

Rockstar wants GTA Online players to steal $2 trillion (yes, trillion) in a week
https://www.pcgamer.com/rockstar-wants-gta-online-players-to-steal-dollar2-trillion-yes-trillion-in-a-week/
In 2020, Rockstar Games held a "Heist Challenge" in Grand Theft Auto Online, offering free rewards for the entire community if players could collectively steal GTA$100 billion from Heist Finales in one week. They delivered in spades, bringing home an astounding $1 trillion by the time the event was over. So for 2022, Rockstar is stepping things up a bit.

Finally, a free game about skateboard witches fighting corporate evil
https://www.pcgamer.com/finally-a-free-game-about-skateboard-witches-fighting-corporate-evil/
I love student games for two reasons: They're usually really cool proofs-of-concept and they're usually free.
So it is with Witchpunk, a free game that hit Steam this month made by a team called 99% Funk at the DigiPen Institute of Technology. In it, you lay down some sick arena combat against corporate demons as you shred around on your witchy skateboard while bashing robots with your giant, magic hammer and/or spraypaint.

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide progress will carry over into the full game, Fatshark confirms
https://www.pcgamer.com/warhammer-40000-darktide-progress-will-carry-over-into-the-full-game-fatshark-confirms/
Beta tests often function separately from full game releases—that is, what you do in the beta won't count when the full game comes along. The good news for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide players is that any progress they make in the ongoing pre-release beta will carry over to the full game when it launches on November 30.

I cannot stop laughing at Warzone 2 cheaters in flying boats
https://www.pcgamer.com/call-of-duty-warzone-2-flying-boat-cheater-hacker/
There's a lot of stuff that's annoying when someone is hacking. Sometimes, however, people use the power of hacking for a laugh. A goof. A ha-ha. Such seems to be the case, at least so far, with the advent of flying boats in Call of Duty: Warzone 2.
>> Therre's a video showing it. And you should watch it mutted.

Check out the unique look of Fallout-inspired RPG Space Wreck
https://www.pcgamer.com/check-out-the-unique-look-of-fallout-inspired-rpg-space-wreck/
I love that we're at a point in gaming technology where I can look at a jaggy pixelated line and know with absolute certainty that it's jaggy because the creators wanted it to be. It is purposeful pixelation, and upcoming isometric RPG Space Wreck is rife with it, combining a comic artist's eye for composition and lines with a sense of animation that suits its inspirations: Classic western isometric RPGs like Fallout and Arcanum. It's set to launch on December 5, 2022.

Midnight Suns has 'something like 65,000 lines of voiced dialogue'
https://www.pcgamer.com/midnight-suns-has-something-like-65000-lines-of-voiced-dialogue/
Superhero comics are wordy beasts, with characters who somehow have time to fill balloons with 20-25 words of chit-chat in the same amount of time it takes to swing a single punch. Marvel's movies are famous for the amount of banter in them too. It's still a bit of a surprise that Marvel's Midnight Suns—a turn-based tactics game by Firaxis, whose XCOM series isn't exactly known for its storytelling and character work—is cramming in the words too. But according to a recent Special Message from Firaxis video, it absolutely is.

Retro GTA2-inspired shooter Geneshift becomes Gene Shift Auto, goes free-to-play
https://www.pcgamer.com/retro-gta2-inspired-shooter-geneshift-becomes-gene-shift-auto-goes-free-to-play/
The game that was called Geneshift is now known as Gene Shift Auto. As Nik Nak Studios, which is to say solo developer Ben Johnson, explains, it's changed dramatically enough during development and early access to warrant a new name.

https://www.pcgamer.com/gran-turismo-boss-says-hes-considering-and-looking-into-pc-port/
Gran Turismo series creator Kazunori Yamauchi has said that he would consider porting the PlayStation-exclusive racing series to PC. "Yes, I do think so," Yamauchi said when asked if the Gran Turismo series could make the jump to PC.

Here's when World of Warcraft: Dragonflight releases in your time zone
https://www.pcgamer.com/world-of-warcraft-dragonflight-release-time-unlock/
World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is nearly here, and you'll soon be heading to the Dragon Isles, the home of the Dragon Aspects and the new Dracthyr race. As with any new WoW expansion, the level cap will increase, there will be new zones to explore, and there's a whole new way of getting around with dragonriding.
In preparation for Dragonflight, the pre-patch introduced the revamped UI and the new talent trees, as well as the new evoker class and the updated Uldaman dungeon. So, if you're ready to start your journey to level 70 but are unsure when the new expansion unlocks, here are the WoW: Dragonflight release times, broken down by time zone.

EA patent proposes AI system to punish you for fraternising with the enemy
https://www.pcgamer.com/ea-patent-proposes-ai-system-to-punish-you-for-fraternising-with-the-enemy/
Like a stern, cigar-chomping general, EA has grown tired of its players befriending their enemies, and has come up with a way to stop it. A new patent from the company, titled "Detecting Collusion in Online Games," is meant to catch players on opposing teams who unfairly partner up before they can ruin the game for everyone else.
