The spinoff-but-actually-a-sequel to Persona 5 was surprisingly fun and exciting when it came out, striking a good balance between the mindless musou combat and the strategic elements of the Persona series, and delivering a much more story-heavy experience than anyone was expecting. For as fun as it was, however, it's far from being the most memorable game, already starting to fade in my memory less than two years after playing it. It's the kind of game that fades as it goes on, too, with the combat eventually becoming a bit stale and even the story, which starts out quite promising, ultimately devolves into a repetitive endeavor that has no idea how to differentiate itself from its predecessor. I enjoyed this game a lot, but a classic, it is not.
