Keep in mind that the games are heavily CPU bottlenecked at 1440p.

Overall, the 4090 is around 30% faster in Raster against the 4080 which is around 22% faster than 3090 Ti or 31% faster than 6950XT.

In Ray Tracing, 4090 is around 40-50% faster than 4080 which is 25% faster than 3090 Ti or 138% faster than 6950XT.

But at the end of the day, while the performance is good, the pricing is not. If you truly care about RT, you need to step up to the 4090 imo. The 4080 while much more powerful than 6950XT and will be much more powerful than 7900XTX in RT, it will lose in Raster without a doubt. If the 4080 was $700, I'd be playing a different tune but both the 4080 and 7900XT are simply bad choices.
