MCM design won't come into affect for ps6 generation imo. MCM has it's own set of quirks that only makes sense if you are scaling up very high end GPUs. While the GPU inside of the ps6 will be leagues better by todays standards, I don't think it's likely that it will be using MCM design similar to how the CPU inside of the PS5 is monolith despite the desktop Zen CPUs being all chiplets. But we will see since it's too soon to tell.

Don't get me wrong. They may change vendors, its not impossible for them to do. I just don't see either Sony of MS jumping ship due to numerous disadvantages of swapping to a manufacturer like Intel. Whether it be from a hardware/software POV to manufactering, assembly costs and shipping. Atm, with Intel's plans to build Fabs across Americas and Europe which will take time and with their press will take up to a decade to come to fruition.

Besides that I doubt it'll be as efficient nor as cost effective as going to TSMC and getting the latest tech from AMD fabbed in Taiwan and then having that line passed and assembled in China with other parts and accessories bundled, packaged then shipped WW.

If we talk about hardware and possiblity of its uses of MCM in future consoles. We can see the cost savings from AMD's 7XXX series so far by vastly reducing the main die size with the use of MCD's. With this method they can offer chips way more cost effective than those who can only do huge monolithic dies. With better yeilds and chips per wafer and use of smaller dies to boot.

But yeah all this is hypothetical. And we're probably 4+ years away from either a PS6 or Xbox (?) xPP
