I am only ever slightly above average in competitive games.
Halo 2- Sure I can beat my friends and my brother, but I could never beat anyone decent at the game.
Smash Bros Melee- Same thing as Halo 2.
World of Warcraft- Brought my guild to the top 10 on the server briefly, but that took a massive amount of time and effort, and we quickly lost relevance.
League of Legends- Peaked Platinum, felt like Diamond V level. Nowhere near as good as Challenger or Pro.
Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition- Above 1000 elo playing casually, again nowhere close to a 1400 elo+ player, who in turn suck compared to pros at 2500 elo.
If I ever had the natural skill to compete near the top level then I definitely would have practiced more and at least made an attempt to be at the top, but that never happened.
