Just as it predicted last year, half of Capcom's sales are now on PC

Historically, Capcom has not been what you'd call a particularly PC-focused game publisher. The list of best-selling games on Capcom's "Platinum Titles" page, for instance, includes many non-PC releases. But the company said in October 2021 that it wanted to make PC its primary platform in the future, a strategy that included having 50% of its sales on PC by 2022 or 2023—and good job, everyone, because according to Capcom's most recent financial results, it's mission accomplished.
The PC percentage increase was revealed in a Q&A summary following Capcom's second-quarter results: Asked about the ratio of PC sales to total unit sales at the end of the quarter, the company replied, "Approximately 50%, with primarily catalog title sales growing." Catalog titles are previously-released games that are continuing to sell—the stuff that gets Phil Spencer excited about the Activision purchase, basically.

Nvidia fixes Modern Warfare 2 bug in its latest GeForce driver
https://www.pcgamer.com/nvidia-fixes-modern-warfare-2-bug-in-its-latest-geforce-driver/
Nvidia has released a hotfix for its latest Game Ready Driver that it says will fix the issues some players were experiencing in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2.
The issue was reported (opens in new tab) by Call of Duty's lead PC studio Beenox on October 28, the day Modern Warfare 2 went into full release. "We've noticed some stability issues with the latest NVIDIA drivers 526.47 on Call of Duty #MWII," the studio tweeted. "For now we'd suggest you keep the 516.59, or 522.25 drivers."
(...)
Nvidia said the hotfix, which takes the driver to version 526.61, will take care of the following problems:
- [Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II] Flashing corruption can be seen randomly while playing the game. [3829010]
- VTube Studio may crash to black screen [3838158]
- GPU stuck in P0 state after exiting certain games. [3846389]

MODS, EMULATORS & FAN PROJECTS
Cyberpunk 2077 gets 4K & 8K textures for walls, roads, vegetation & more
https://www.dsogaming.com/mods/cyberpunk-2077-gets-4k-8k-textures-for-walls-roads-vegetation-more/
Modders ‘V like tears’ and ‘traitsu’ have released new 4K and 8K textures for Cyberpunk 2077. These new textures overhaul the textures of numerous surfaces, like roads, walls, trees, vegetation, posters and more.
Needless to say that we highly recommend downloading these new textures. After all, these packs seem to be using AI techniques in order to enhance the original textures. In other words, they won’t ruin the game’s aesthetics, even though they will improve its visual quality.
Important: Cyberpunk 2077 mod lets you pet your cat
https://www.pcgamer.com/important-cyberpunk-2077-mod-lets-you-pet-your-cat/
Twitter account Can You Pet The Dog? has become so powerful, it's now essentially a gaming purity test: if a game has a dog, you better be able to pet it, or else. It's inspired pat-providing updates, mods, and a surge in new games making sure that you could put a virtual hand on a virtual snout to make a virtual pup happy. It's a grave injustice that there isn't an equally popular account dedicated to sharing the cat love. If there was, maybe we wouldn't have to be the ones asking: why doesn't Cyberpunk 2077 allow you to pet your cat?
It's taken a couple years, but a very important mod by a creator named deceptious on NexusMods now allows V, Cyberpunk 2077's playable character, to pet their cat Nibbles in the apartment. Now that's purrty neat. CD Projekt Red has released patch after patch for Cyberpunk 2077 since its notoriously poor launch back in 2020, but it's a sin that being able to pet Nibbles wasn't one of them—though I'll give them partial credit for letting me take photos of Nibbles with patch 1.6.
Well, here's a mod that replaces the Left 4 Dead 2 Charger with Homer in his car
https://www.pcgamer.com/well-heres-a-mod-that-replaces-the-left-4-dead-2-charger-with-homer-in-his-car/
Halloween is over. Done. Donezo. Finished. Jason Voorhees is out and Mariah Carey is in. Nothing horror is allowed for the rest of the year, and that means we've got to make some sacrifices. In dedication to the oncoming festive period we should all respect that scares are over until 2023 and install this symbolic mod, which swaps the Charger in Left 4 Dead for Homer Simpson driving his lilac sedan.
Why is Homer driving his lilac sedan a festive mod? I will not be taking questions at this time. But I can say that nothing has made me laugh today quite as much as seeing Homer Simpson run over this poor player fighting for their survival. Left 4 Dead is almost unrecognisable in this small clip from Twitter because of how many mods are stuffed into it. I'm pretty sure Overwatch loot boxes aren't even in Overwatch anymore, right? And then suddenly the team is torn apart by my favourite doughnut-loving idiot.
>> At this point, having to listen to Mariah Carey again is almost as scary as Jason Voorhees.
Fallout 4 horror mod Pilgrim returns, remastered, after vanishing for years
https://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-horror-mod-pilgrim-returns-remastered-after-vanishing-for-years/
There are plenty of horrors in Fallout 4 already, but for those chasing a true horror experience, 2017 mod "Pilgrim: Dread the Commonwealth" completely transformed the post-apocalyptic RPG into a waking nightmare. Thick fog and spooky lighting turned Fallout 4's atmosphere into one of pure dread. As I said back then, it looked like a mix of Stalker: Shadow of Chernobyl and The Road, with a bit of The Witch thrown in.
But not long after Pilgrim arrived it was taken offline, apparently after some disputes between the mod's creators. It resurfaced again in 2019, but was once more taken down. For a long while, there wasn't a great way to find Pilgrim's mod files without asking around in forums or using mirror sites.
Great news for horror fans: As spotted by PCGamesN, Pilgrim is back, and what's more, it's been remastered. Take a gander at the new trailer above. It looks spooky as hell.
