Bercause AMD doesn't count! Do you see Intel talking about them regarding their GPUs? Nope, they only compare themselves with Nvidia. And so Nvidia is doing the same.

AMD may want to get some of that attention as well, but they can get it from the new GPU announcements from next week, so they don't need to fuck up their drivers for that. But it's AMD, they can still fuck it up in some other way.
