Yeah, it looks more and more likely that the fault is on the adapters, not the users. It's bad, but it kind of has an eas solution, Nvidia and its partners "only" have to replace all the shipped adapters with new, quality ones.

But I've got to say that it's quite ironic that this seems to be the root of this problem given how Nvidia tested the adapters months ago and warned its partners of using quality ones to avoid problems. Looks like they didn't listen.
