AMD Ryzen 7 7700 non-X CPU allegedly features 8 cores and 65W TDP

Pretty much what AMD needs to do. Imo we need to see 7600 for $230 and 7700 for $330 if not cheaper. Similar to how Ryzen forced the i5 from quad cores to 6 cores and i7s from quad core 8 threads to 8 core 16 threads... Intel is now changing the game this time around. The i5 class is now 14 cores (6P 8E) and i7s are now 16 cores (8P 8E). So Ryzen cpus ironically look like what Intel CPUs used to look like compared to Ryzen. But I don't think we will see this transition from AMD until Zen 5.

There was a rumor last year regarding that possibility, with AMD launching what was assumed as an APU codenamed Strix Point featuring Zen5 and Zen4D cores in a 8+4 configuration.

The reason I put that assumed in the sentence is because, at the time, we didn't know that Zen4 CPUs would feature an iGPU, so people could have assumed that it was an APU because it featured RDNA cores in it.

In any case, that chip wasn't supposed to come until 2024 or 2025, which means that AMD has a lot of time to decide where to use it, desktop or laptop, and if they want to expand it with more Zen4D cores, for example.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Mobile lineup leaks out, RTX 4090 coming to laptops

Pair that with 13th gen laptop CPUs and you got a laptop with a 2 minute battery

It wouls be an interesting combination. What would last more, the battery or the plastic housing of the laptop?
